Details

The legendary wooden train of Sóller takes us through the unique places offered by the Sierra de  Alfabia  in the Sierra Tramuntana and the Valley of Sóller; aroma of orange trees, olive trees, nature and sea combined with tunnels, steep mountains, lush forests and magnificent panoramic panoramas that give us an unforgettable experience.

Once you arrive in the village of Sóller, shopping and cultural center of the Sierra, we are welcomed by the main square of Sóller which is perfect to sit on a terrace and observe the church of San Bartolomé and the building of the Bank of Sóller. Both buildings are a modernist work by the architect Joan Rubió, a disciple of Gaudí, who also signed the facade of the church, with a rose window sculpted in stone. Known as the cradle of modernism, Sóller has an extensive history between its streets and buildings. The old houses and stately palaces of colonial style tell us as in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, The Mallorcan merchants made their fortune with the trade of oranges in France and how King Alfonso XIII proclaimed Sóller as a city and commercial and cultural center of the area.

This railway route was inaugurated in the early twentieth century, the city of Sóller with its thriving industry and its famous orange orchards, had the need to end the insulation that prevented its development. The majestic mountain setting of its surroundings and the Sierra de Alfábia prevented the transport of passengers and goods from the port to the city of Palma and with the rest of the island.

After getting to know the main square of the village, we will head by tram (also wooden) to the Port of Sóller, a natural port surrounded by mountains that offers all kinds of activities and attractions, in addition to wonderful views. The Port of Sóller has a rich maritime history for its perfect location in the Sierra de Tramuntana, which made it a shopping center of the area and a treasure coveted by ancient pirates and smugglers.

Imagine a unique journey, crossing mountains that tell stories, culture and traditions, in a century-old wooden train that preserves all its original essence and aesthetics. Without a doubt, an unforgettable experience on rails.

Carbon footprint offsetting

Carbon offsetting is a method used to balance greenhouse gas emissions by investing in projects that reduce or eliminate equivalent emissions elsewhere.

At Lemon Tours, we carefully calculate the carbon footprint of each of our tours, considering factors such as transportation and activity consumption. We then invest in a variety of United Nations certified carbon offset projects, such as renewable energy, reforestation and others, to offset these emissions.
