Details

Unique landscapes, nature in its purest state and dreamlike views merge in this tour that combines sea and land with all the character of the island. The perfect tour to get to know the tradition of Mallorca and the best corners of the island.

We start the tour on our way to Sóller, where we will take the coach to see a panoramic view of the town, as later we will return here to make a stop and get to know the town. We will continue our trip towards the reservoirs of Mallorca, the reservoirs of Cuber and Gorg Blau, which are located in the Almallutx Valley, in the Serra de Tramuntana, and are an important source of supply for Palma. They were built in the early 1970s to create a water reservoir for the Balearic capital, especially useful in times of drought common in the Mediterranean climate. The reservoirs are located at the foot of the highest mountain in Mallorca, the Puig Major (1445 m), restricted to people, since at the top there is a radar that serves for air control of the western Mediterranean.

Winding the narrow road of the Sierra de Tramuntana we will reach the road to Sa Calobra, located more than 800m above sea level and with an incredible winding and narrow road, famous for its famous "Nus de Sa Corbata".

When we reach the end of the road we will arrive at the beach of Sa Calobra and the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, which make up this imposing whim of nature. We are in a peculiar beach surrounded by large steep mountains and, in the background, the turquoise blue of the sea, a scenario that conquers visitors and locals. The Torrent de Pareis, the main protagonist of this creation of nature, is the habitat of different species of animals and local vegetation that give it an incalculable environmental valueIn Sa Calobra, we will embark on a cruise to the Port of Sóller, sailing along the north coast of the island and observing the maritime cornice of the Sierra de Tramuntana (listed as a World Heritage Site) that offers spectacular views of nature in its purest state.

Once on land, we can admire the promenade Puerto de Sóller, a natural harbor surrounded by spectacular mountains. A historical enclave coveted in ancient times by corsairs and pirates due to Mallorca's location in the Mediterranean Sea. The Valley of Sóller offers us mixed scents of orange blossom and citrus, idyllic landscapes and a rich maritime history that we can learn about on this train ride. From the port itself, we will take the emblematic wooden streetcar to the town of Sóller, where we are welcomed by its bustling streets and famous modernist buildings such as the Church of San Bartolomé or the old Bank of SóllerSóller, known as the cradle of modernism, keeps an extensive history among its streets and buildings. The old colonial-style manor houses and palaces tell us how in the 19th and 20th centuries, Mallorcan merchants made their fortune trading oranges in France and how King Alfonso XIII proclaimed the town of Sóller a city and the commercial and cultural center of the area.

From the same center, we will start the return route with a centenary train that preserves its original aesthetics and continues to travel the old tracks that cross the Sierra de Alfabia. Its wooden carriages, carefully cared for, take us back in time to 1912, when it was inaugurated. The train is characterized for being a narrow-gauge railroad, which is not very common nowadays, and for presenting a very varied old rolling stock, with a detailed character and handcrafted maintenanceTunnels, steep mountains, lush forests and magnificent scenery make it an unforgettable journey.

Recommendation

► During the train ride, if you have the opportunity, step out to the front or back of the carriage and enjoy the traditional ride from there.

► Be sure to bring a camera or phone to capture the beauty of the scenery at all times.

► Wear appropriate, comfortable, slip-resistant footwear, as there will be walking on uneven terrain. Particularly if you plan to explore the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, you will need suitable footwear for walking on stones and rocks.

► If you plan to swim or snorkel at the mouth of the Torrent de Pareis, bring a diving mask with you so you can enjoy the marine beauty.

► Eat an ice cream at Sa Fábrica de Getats. Founded in 1994, this traditional family-run ice cream parlor is a favorite in the Sierra de Tramuntana. During the summer, visit the ice cream parlors in the center of town and try a delicious ice cream in their charming patios.

► Drink a juice squeezed from Sóller's oranges. Of course, you can't miss the squeezed juice of the delicious oranges of Sóller, known as "La vall dels taronjers", where in early summer a variety called "canoneta" is produced and in summer we can enjoy its sweet and exquisite juice.

More Information

► You will have time for lunch when we arrive at Sa Calobra.

► The boat trip depends on weather conditions and sea state. In the unlikely event that the boat trip is cancelled due to adverse weather conditions, an alternative bus route will be chosen.

Carbon footprint offsetting

Carbon offsetting is a method used to balance greenhouse gas emissions by investing in projects that reduce or eliminate equivalent emissions elsewhere.

At Lemon Tours, we carefully calculate the carbon footprint of each of our tours, considering factors such as transportation and activity consumption. We then invest in a variety of United Nations certified carbon offset projects, such as renewable energy, reforestation and others, to offset these emissions.
