Northeast Mallorca



Apart from being one of the most preserved areas of the island, this corner is an important local enclave for artisans and also counts on impressive archaeological sites. In the pretty towns of Artà ​​or Capdepera and its surroundings astonishing remains from the Arabian period can be found almost at every turn. The beautiful gardens and the fruit and vegetable plantations were introduced during their period on the island. Indeed, the towns can be seen from afar with its impressive castle with double walls from the 13th century and a parish church from the 16th century.





The abundance of the fan palm gave rise to the widespread development of palm-based craftwork in the late 19th century. There are still a few craftspeople that continue to pursue this art today.
