The Northernmost region

The north coast of Mallorca is extremely rich in contrasts. Imposing cliffs alternate with some kilometer-long sandy beaches. But beyond its beaches and coves, countless towns and cities with a special charm and a rich heritage of the cultures that inhabited the island are treasured.

Discover the extraordinary visual effect of the steepest and highest mountains of the Sierra de Tramuntana as backdrop of some of the largest and most beautiful beaches, like Alcudia Beach. Cape Formentor, for many called the Finis Terrae (end of the earth) of Mallorca, offers unique panoramic views where the sea meets the horizon. At the foot of the mountain, we find Playa de Formentor, a narrow stretch of fine white sand with calm turquoise waters, perfect for spending a day at the beach with the family.

The extraordinary combination made of the steepest mountains of the Sierra de Tramuntana with some of the largest, most beautiful beaches and crystal clear waters on the island won't leave you indifferent.

We highly recommend one of our joint or private tours in this area, especially those including a visit to two of the towns catalogued, in 2019, as the most beautiful in Spain: Pollensa and Alcudia. Both towns have impressive historic centers that are home to buildings and monuments from Roman, Muslim and Christian times that reveal the rich history of Mallorca.

Pollensa has impressive archaeological remains from ancient Roman times, and, if we move forward in time, we find that the ancient part of the city preserves architectural features and elements from closer times such as the Islamic period and, above all, constructions of the Christian reconquest, carried out by King Jaime I.

Alcudia's old quarter is still protected by a monumental wall dating from the 17th century, declared a Historic Artistic Site in 1974. In a nutshell, this historical town welcomes its visitors with traditional cobbled streets and typical Mallorcan old stone houses anchored in time. A short walk between these stone walls reveals much of the history of this renowned city.

However, if you seek a relaxing day at the beach, the north coast also offers extensive white sand beaches and crystal clear waters with all the facilities. There are different options, among the best we suggest Playas de Muro or Alcudia beach is an extensive sandy area with a lush pine forest perfect for practicing renting a boat or simply enjoying the sun and some refreshing dips.

The north of the island is also ideal for those interested in sailing or water sports such as windsurfing, kitesurfing or even parasailing. At Lemon we offer all kinds of activities, programmed tours and private trips so that you can spend an unforgettable time in this very special region of Mallorca, which you will indeed enjoy, whether traveling with your family, friends or your partner.
